ABOUT CYD

Cyd has had a love affair with food her whole life. From growing up in a family of inspired cooks – a grandmother who lived on a farm and cooked straight from the garden, a first-generation Greek-American father who celebrated his Mediterranean roots in his garden as well as his kitchen, a mother who began her career as a “dietitian” in a grand department store restaurant and was the perfect hostess, and countless aunties, friends and mentors who shared their tables and their recipes over the years.  

What began as a passion turned into a career. Like many working actors in NYC, she found herself supplementing her income with work in the food industry. She wore many hats at multiple restaurants and catering enterprises, from cook to sous chef to chef de cuisine, to owner and eventually pivoted to a full-time career in food styling, recipe development and personal chef for select clients.

Cyd is a devoted Upper-Westsider and spends time off in Columbia County where she tends her vegetable and flower garden, cooks on her 1950’s Chambers Stove,  kayaks at sunset, chases her fabulous cats and enjoys throwing casual dinner parties with whatever is in season.

She has worked and dined with great joy across several continents and has been inspired by the culinary and work experiences in Helsinki, Paris, Uruguay, Ocean Point, Maine, Felt, Idaho and her hometown of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. (Yes, that is actually a real place.)

Cyd graduated from The College of Wooster, volunteered for Gods Love We Deliver, is a member of the New York Women’s Culinary Alliance, creates recipes and collaborates on special events for FarmOn! Foundation in Copake, NY.
